Ancient Echoes are reflected and repeated images of rock art from the Southwest. The rock art subjects range from 4000 year old Archaic drawings to 1200 year old Anasazi images and 300 year old Navajo petroglyphs. Kathryn Whitson manipulates the images to create contemporary works of art.

Each Ancient Echo has a uniqueness all its own with geometric patterns formed from the rock itself. The images are produced on a computer and printed with archival inks on archival papers. Lifetimes are projected to be 140 years when displayed out of direct sunlight and under glass.
